Sr. Mary Andrew

Notes:  Sister Mary Andrew (a/k/a Sister Frances Doyle) has been publicly accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old female student in the mid-1940s at Notre Dame School, a high school in Manhattan run by the Society of St. Ursula. At the time of the abuse, Sr. Mary Andrew was the principal. The student reported that Sr. Mary Andrew followed her up the school staircase from the lunchroom and abused her. She learned that at least one other student had experienced sexual abuse from Sr. Andrew.

Sr. Andrew died on November 29, 2006. According to her obituary, Sr. Andrew had the following assignments:

  • 1945-1946: Notre Dame School; Manhattan, NY
  • 1949-1950: Notre Dame School; Manhattan, NY
  • 1953-1955: St. Joseph’s parish; Kingston
  • 1953-1955: Linwood Spiritual Center; Rhinebeck, NY
  • 1966-1974: John A. Coleman Catholic High School; Kingston
  • 1974-1977: Notre Dame High School; Manhattan, NY
  • 1983-1995: John A. Coleman Catholic High School; Kingston
  • Unknown: Academy of St. Ursula; Kingston
