Notes:
Tamburrino was one of four priests accused of sexually abusing a 16-year-old boy, who worked as a church secretary at St. Simon Stock, between 1996 to 1998. The boy said the priests plied him with alcohol and porn, offered him money for sex, had him watch them group masturbate, and threatened him with harm if he told. The boy and his family confronted church officials in 1999, who reportedly tried to get them to sign a release. A civil suit was filed in 2000 and settled with the boy’s family prior to 2002.
Tamburrino was removed from St. Simon Stock in 1999. He was assigned as chaplain to Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center while living at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. He was removed from this assignment and suspended by his order in 2001 when the allegations became public.
In 2002, Tamburrino was arrested on charges of aggravated harassment and stalking of a New York man and his family. At the time, he was still being supported by the Carmelites.
In 2005, Tamburrino was arrested again for taking erotic photos of a 15-year-old boy and approaching another teen boy for the same. He was convicted in March 2006 and sentenced in June 2006 to 5-15 years in prison. He is registered as a New York State Level 2 sex offender.
