Deacon Arthur Manzione

In August 2003, Manzione was suspended from his position as associate secretary of education for the Archdiocese and part-time deacon at St. Anthony of Padua Church after being accused of sexually abusing of minor in the early 1980s. At the time of the abuse, Manzione was an elementary school principal at Sacred Heart in Newburgh.

According to news reports, Manzione and Rev. Lawrence Inzeo were both removed from St. Anthony’s of Padua in the same month. Allegations against the two men date back to when both men were assigned to Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh. The Archdiocese stated that the allegations were not related.

Manzione was ordained as a deacon in 1979. His laicization was announced in September 2005.
