In September 2014, Quigley was suspended from his position as a sacristan at American Martyrs Catholic Church in Bayside after an accusation that he sexually abused a male student at St. Francis Prep in 2003. The abuse was alleged to have occurred on four occasions. The District Attorney launched an investigation. The status of the case is unknown.
According to the St. Francis Prep Fall 2004 alumni newsletter, Quigley left Fordham Prep and was assigned as Secretary General of the International Franciscan Conference in Rome.
In 2016, Br. Quigley celebrated his Golden Jubilee as a Franciscan.
