Notes:
Also known as “Father Lewk.”
Lewkiewicz was named in an October 2003 civil suit, in which 27 victims alleged abuse by 24 priests. In the lawsuit, one man alleged that Lewkiewicz sexually abused him as a 7-year-old boy at Blessed Sacrament Church in the 1970s. He alleged that while practicing for his First Communion, Lewkiewicz stopped him and raped him in the confessional. The lawsuit also alleged that Fr. Howard Richmond watched the abuse, but did nothing. Lewkiewicz denied the allegations.
According to a November 2004 Diocese of Brooklyn Press Release, Bishop DiMarzio announced that the allegations had “no merit and no credibility” and that Lewkiewicz would continue to work as a priest at Our Lady of Angels.
Lewkiewicz retired in September 2017. He continues to reside in the Our Lady of Angels rectory.
