Noaker Law Firm is dedicated to helping Minnesota businesses start-up and grow. As part of that dedication, the Firm invests in a number of youth programs that help kids develop into good citizens, future innovators and impactful business women and men. One of those programs is the FTC (First Tech Challenge) robotics program. The FTC robotics program is designed for students in grades 7-12 to compete head to head, in tournament-style competitions. Teams are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Teams, including coaches, mentors and volunteers, are required to develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles. Awards are given for the competition as well as for community outreach, design, and other real-world accomplishments. Noaker Law Firm sponsors the Oak Grove Middle School Typhoons in Bloomington, Minnesota.
It is exciting to report that this last weekend, the Typhoons won the Minnesota State FTC championship. The competition involved 48 teams from across Minnesota, and the Typhoons won first place in the State. What is exciting is that the Typhoons triumphed despite being one of the youngest teams in the competition. The Typhoons are now headed to the North Super Regional in Des Moines Iowa on March 26 – 28 to face teams from all over the upper midwest. In addition to winning the tournament, the Typhoons were also given a Judges Award based on the presentation they gave to the panel of judges Friday evening. Their presentation focused on team growth and what they were able to learn from the season being a new rookie team to FTC. Congratulations Typhoons for your hard work and great success. Good Luck at the Super Regionals!!
